The Stagecoach Inn Museum

Welcome to the Chumash Village

A Chumash Ap (tule dwelling) was developed as a reminder of the Bicentennial by the Conejo Valley Bicentennial-Centennial Commission. There is a bedrock mortar nearby, a fossil dig, and a ceremonial fire ring blessed by the Chumash. This is the type of shelter used by Native-Americans who lived in Ventura, Santa Barbara and the northwest Los Angeles counties.
