Educational Tours

Learning history is easier and more fun with participation in one of the school programs at the Stagecoach Inn Museum Complex. All three tours follow the suggested California State curriculum. Follow-up lesson plans are given to the teachers.

Chumash Program (Third Grade)

The Chumash tour offers students the opportunity to pretend they are the original inhabitants of the Conejo Valley and lived here many years ago. This tour includes a visit to the Chumash Exhibit, "hands on" experiences such as drawing Chumash pictographs, playing Chumash games, listening to Chumash legends, and pounding acorns.

Pioneer Days Program (Fourth Grade)

The Pioneer Days tour allows the students to participate in children’s activities of long ago. It includes "hands on" experiences including baking, washing clothes, beating rugs, dancing, soaping a horse's saddle, a visit to the Carriage House and Blacksmith Shop, panning for gold, and attending a class in an authentic pioneer school.

Western Movement Program (Fifth Grade)

The Westward Movement tour includes “hands on” experiences such as baking, washing clothes, beating rugs, soaping a horse's saddle, attending an authentic pioneer school, a visit to the Adobe area as well as a tour of the Stagecoach Inn.
